Last year, I made my hubby a retrofit sweater. He picked out the yarn and pattern and he wears the sweater all the time. It’s all good.
My hubby’s not really a “I want to dress up our dog and parade around town” kind of guy so the idea of making our dog a matching sweater was hilarious to me. Egged on by my daughters, I took the yarn leftovers from the retrofit and figured out a doggie duplicate, using an existing sweater as a template.
Now, I’ve never made dog clothing before and there wasn’t any way I was going to take the time to figure out a matching raglan sleeve for the dog. But, the doggie design was matching enough that I was rewarded with sighing and eye rolling and then a bemused smirk u
pon first sight. Yay!
My hubby was even a good-enough sport to let me take a pic. (Thank you Dear!!)
Hope you all had a Happy Valentine’s Day! Up next on the needles: A lacy cardigan… maybe?!?
Awesome! Love it.

Lol! You and I have almost identical dogs – where yours is black, my Charlie is grey. You can see her in her very own “hounds”tooth sweater in my very first post last March. 🙂
P.S. – your hubby is a very good sport, indeed!

I don’t think I would have done it if I didn’t have my daughters as both instigators and an audience. His reaction made it worth the time and effort! 🙂

Thanks so much for stopping by my Bmore Energy, http://bmoreenergy.wordpress.com/, and liking my knit hat with garter stitch bands. OMG–the doggie sweater is Adorable (with a capital “A”)! Since I am madly in love with my four-legged fifth child I may have to give this a try. 🙂
